Nightly visits in his mind became Vecna sending a Demogorgon to steal him in the night. Waking up in the Upside Down for real was a living nightmare. Vecna used this opportunity to violate Will again, the same way he had when he was young and first experienced throwing up Dart on Christmas. He said he needed a stronger army, and he needed them fast
