“A loud thud catches Nick’s attention from the back of the room, near the couches delimiting the children’s corner from the romance section. There, a lanky man is standing with two thick books at his feet, having by all appearances dropped them just now. If Nick hadn’t looked at his picture ten times a day for an entire fortnight, he could have been convinced that it wasn’t Charlie Spring in front of him. But by now, he knows these curls, as thick and as dark as leather, better than he knows his own name. Yet it can’t be him, right?”
Charlie Spring is a successful children’s book author. Nick Nelson is a primary school teacher. Charlie’s stories celebrate differences and acceptance, which makes them both kids’ and teacher’s favourites in Nick’s classroom. Hence, whenever his class takes a trip to the local library, he’s always roped into reading "The Spring Tales". What happens when Charlie shows up to one of his readings and their friends assume they’re already dating?
