    Summary

Sherlock Holmes did not believe in coincidence.

This was not a philosophy he had chosen, nor a principle he felt compelled to defend. It was simply a structural truth of the world, as immutable and dependable as gravity. Patterns existed because something caused them. Actions had causes. People, no matter how irrational they appeared, had motives that could be uncovered, dissected, and understood.

    Everything could be known.

Which was precisely why the things he could not explain irritated him so thoroughly.

Candlin College was full of such irritations. They lingered at the edges of perception, in half-glimpsed expressions and inconsistencies too subtle for anyone else to notice, in the quiet spaces between conversations where something refused to resolve itself neatly into logic.

In Sherlock's world, everything has a cause, and therefore, everything can be understood.

So when James Moriarty doesn't quite fit the pattern, Sherlock ignores the inconsistency. Yet he finds himself choosing, again and again, not to ask the questions he already knows the answer to.

After all, some conclusions are... inconvenient.

    Summary

It did strike Robin as dark and possibly sad that this fifteen year old kid was so good at covering his tracks. Not just in a way where she wished he hadn't needed to save the world before, but also she wished the world had been nicer to him. You didn't hide bikes from a Mind Flayer - you hid them from the bully that followed you home.

A Vecna-less rewrite of Season 4, because since when has a small town needed a supernatural threat to gang up on a freak?

    Summary

“I don’t think it’s stupid,” Neil says, and there’s that ache again, the kind that keeps haunting him. “Do you think you’re just – ordinary to me?”
Todd doesn’t look him in the eye. “I didn’t say that.”
“You don’t say a lot of things,” Neil points out, and Todd huffs something between a scoff and a laugh.

Neil, Todd, and the intricacies of living together.

    Summary

“Raphael,” she said gently. “I know it’s difficult for you to use the past tense-”

“It’s not difficult, it’s just wrong,” Raph growled. He couldn’t look at her. This was the thing. The thing that made everyone look at him with pity. Like he was defective or broken. Like he was some stupid idiot who couldn’t get with the program.

But it was everyone else who was wrong. Raph was the only one who was living in reality.

    “Leo. Isn’t. Dead.”

It's been two years since Leo's disappearance. The city has erected a monument in Bryant Park to honor and mourn New York's bravest young hero.

While Leo's statue sits in the park, Raph sits in therapy. Everyone believes Raph is too traumatized, too wounded to process the loss of his brother.

But there's something Raph can't explain, something only he can feel, something everybody wants him to ignore. It whispers softly somewhere in the deepest corners of his mind: he's still here.

    Raph listens.

    Summary

Raph lunged first, and almost immediately the other boy dodged, sweeping his feet before he could even realize what happened. Raph hissed in pain briefly before pulling himself up, tackling Casey to the floor. He heard the referee start to count but Casey has already shoved him off, pinning him down before he can do anything.

He didn’t even realize the referee counting, confirming his first loss since he’d started wrestling until Casey is no longer pinning him to the ground and instead, reaching out a hand to help him up.

Raph took his hand in a daze, letting himself be pulled up effortlessly.

“Better luck next time Hamato,” Casey smiled mischievously, grabbing his hoodie and bag from the bleachers as he walked away, leaving Raph to simply gawk at whatever the fuck just happened.

(fic that was originally gonna be a one-shot but it got a bit long so... title is a lyric from teenager in love by neon trees which is vibes wise not a rasey song but lyrics wise totally a rasey song)
