She held it between her fingers, the silver band warm from his own hands. It had a black square stone at its center which looked dark blue when the sun hit it.
“It’s beautiful,” she murmured.
“It’s a Vinkun family ring, given to the male in the family upon graduation,” he explained.
“Fiyero, no, I can’t accept this,” she tried to return it to his hand, which only made him laugh. Something so light it made her stop in her tracks.
“Please, I want you to have it.”

“Yes, I think so,” she agreed. “But I’d want to be noble about it. Not just flamboyant disregard for the law. It would need to be something worth a lot to me.”

Right, a question. He honestly wasn’t even sure what assignment he had in front of him. His lack of a response caused a smile to grow in her eyes, her signature lopsided smirk slowly forming on her lips.
“Just, uh, this concept is troubling for me. I can’t get it right.”
His eyes followed hers to his paper, reminding him that it was his maths assignment.
“Fiyero, your paper is blank. What have you been doing the last half hour?”

MJ dreamt of flying.
No, she was, swinging? She looked over to find her arms wrapped around Spider-Man. She remembered this. This was one of the chunks of memories where the parts before and after were fuzzy. But she remembered swinging. She hated swinging.
She dreamt of falling, a faceless person reaching out for her but not being able to catch her.
Then, quite suddenly, the memories overwhelmed her. Her mind jumped from one instance to another before she could grasp on to what she was supposed to be remembering. Peter’s face flashed through her mind, filling in the gaps of her memory.
When she woke up, she remembered. She remembered everything.
And she was furious.

His jaw dropped in an almost comical way. “You don’t think I can take him? Well I hate for you to find out this way,” he looked her dead in the eyes, his voice dropping to a whisper, “I’m actually Spiderman.”
"Get out of here."
He made the classic Spiderman hands while adding ‘thwip’ sound effects for extra emphasis. MJ shoved his chest, pushing him back onto the couch, laughing in a way only he could cause. She loved him.
