Summary
Eurylochus remembered dying. He had not fought it, had even welcomed the sweet nothingness in the end, letting go of all the hatred and lies and betrayal for eternal peace. He woke up years in the past, where Polites was still alive. Eurylochus stumbles through life and resigns himself to suffer eternally at the hands of his self-sacrificing family while trying to save said family from themselves.

Polites.
Eurylochus’ heart leapt out of his chest, his legs pulling him towards the curly-haired man even before he knew what he was doing. Feet pounding against the rocky terrain, he ran as fast as he could, dodging boulders and cows and unconscious men sporting a variety of blood splattered wounds.
Polites stood ten feet from the cyclops, helping up a soldier. He frowned when he saw Eurylochus a few paces behind him.
“Eurylochus?" He asked, concerned confusion evident in his tone, the idiot apparently picking up on Eurylochus’ distress but not the fact that the cyclops' club was swinging directly towards his turned head.
No. Not again. Eurylochus thought, begged, as he threw himself onto Polites, a tangle of limbs and swords.

Summary
Polites expected himself to pass on to the Fields of Asphodel once he died. Sure, being killed by a cyclops was not his ideal way of dying, but at least he sacrificed himself for his friends, his brothers. There was no more honourable a death than that, right? But suddenly, Polites is not so much dead as he is a ghost and the only one who can see him is Odysseus’ son, and he quickly realises one thing: his nephew deserves the world, and Polites is going to do his best to provide him with it.
Extract:
Was this his punishment, he wondered in the darker moments. To stand and witness his friends lose themselves to grief and fury, to lose each other and their humanity and being unable to help? The grief in his heart was palpable, and Polites didn’t know who it was that he was mourning.
Then, something strange happened. A pull at his consciousness, a gentle tugging that came from Ithaca, he realised, recognising the familiar shore, and it was like he was struck by lightning.
It led him to a child. A bright eyes, dark haired child. The kid looked up, nose scrunched adorably like he was solving the world’s greatest mystery, and Polites’ heart. He knew that face. He knew his brother’s son.

Extract:
The anchor was pulled up, and ship slowly got off the beach as the final line of trees crashed into the ground with a resounding crack. “And now that we’ve pissed them off,” Odysseus snarled, staring up into Eurylochus’ horror-drawn face and shouting, “Who do you think they’ll send?”
Eurylochus took a step back. “Full speed ahead.” He yelled.
Odysseus’ heart hammered in his chest, anticipation and adrenaline twisting and overriding all feelings. “Faster” he yelled, looking behind them for any signs of a threat. The sky around them darkened. “Faster.” The waves were beating against the side of the ship. Wind howled, and the smell of ozone reached Odysseus first. Thunder crashed, lightning blinding him for a moment before he realised there was someone standing in front of them.
“We’re too late.”

Summary
I got overly invested in the life of an oc and this was born.
It encompasses the life of Demetrius, a soldier in Odysseus’ armies and his growth over the years through war and love and death.
Extract:
"Take up the sword. Join us as we fight for our right to live."
Demetrius’ gut pulled, his blood thrumming, dancing under his skin, a force taking over him and filling him with a sense of rightness, despite the revulsion and the fear freezing him in place. Two polar ends of a magnet forced, bound together till it almost hurt.
A hand was on his wrist, holding tight enough to snap Demetrius out of his thoughts. He looked back into Will’s eyes, those sad eyes filled with conviction. A thousand words were shared between them in that instant, and Demetrius' resolve hardened to stone.
Will’s gaze turned tired. ‘Don’t. Please.’ He could almost hear the silent words. He looked away.
“I volunteer.”

The voice half remembered from his childhood, from the clearly separated ‘before’ in his head, before the war, before everything. The cruel, writhing creature inside him cried and lashed. "I'm right here mom. Can't you see me?" The plaintive cry of a child.
Like Polites, him mother's gaze passed over him like he didn't exist, and nothing could prevent the pang of hurt.
"I took too long." His voice was shaky, his cheeks wet. "I went too far."
"I'll always love you. I'll stay in your heart."
His mother had been waiting for him. Now she was dead, and. All this time he had been waiting for him.
Odysseus’ insides were on fire. Everything was too loud. His mother's voice settled over him like a blanket, smothering him, choking him. Dead, dead, dead. She’s dead.Series

Summary
After the world forgot him, Peter kept fighting. He was Spider-Man after all. But as the villains get worse and the heroes dwindle, Peter finally grows tired. Hasn't he done his time? He's never once shirked the responsibility forced upon him. Never once has he put himself first.
Eventually, the straw breaks the camel's back. Peter finally hangs up the cape.
