Summary
Light flooded the entire room as the device lay shattered on the floor; the gem shone with an intensity never before seen in the laboratory, before unleashing a whirlwind that tossed the objects in the room about as if it were a tornado. The stone was breaking apart more and more, cracking right down the center, where it seemed on the verge of splitting completely.
Jin, with all his strength, tried to reach it, ignoring the pain in his body, the difficulty, and the chaos. Namjoon tried to hold him back before it was too late. Then it happened.
The gem exploded in a blinding light, making both their eyelids hurt.
And before anyone could react, both their bodies disappeared from the lab along with the prototype. The objects on the floor lay scattered, leaving only chaos in their wake.
Neither they nor the machine reappeared afterward. Not in a few minutes, nor in an hour. Not even when the entire building was searched from top to bottom.
The room fell silent.
As if they had never been there in the first place.
Or when, thanks to a mistake, they both end up having the adventure of a lifetime while trying to return to their own universe.
