For most of college, Grantaire was hopeless over Enjolras, and everyone but Enjolras knew it. Now he’s worked to get over his crush, and for the most part, he's fine. When Combeferre asks him to choreograph and dance in the Midsummer Night’s Dream-inspired opera he composed as his senior thesis, Grantaire says yes, even though he’s cast opposite Enjolras, as Puck to his Oberon. The chance to dance is worth the potential problems, and he'll have his friends as a buffer.
He doesn't count on long hours of practicing and choreographing and talking together, while they try to figure each other and their futures out. As much as he tries to avoid it, it seems inevitable that he falls for Enjolras again, and this time it isn't a crush.

The blue-haired boy pauses, studies his hand uncertainly before shrugging. “Shirakumo Oboro,” he introduces in return, hand phasing right through Izuku’s when he goes to return the handshake. Shirakumo doesn’t seem surprised by it, but Izuku whips his hand back when the intense chill climbs up his arm.

Les Amis de l'ABC go on a well-earned vacation. Luckily, Enjolras' aunt leaves her beach house empty and they can inhabit it. Between sunbathing, children needing to be entertained and day trips, however, Grantaire has to deal with more than he signed up for.

Grantaire stopped and planted his feet on the ground, looking back over his shoulder to where the second motorcycle pulled around the corner and into the driveway. The driver flipped his visor up and he spotted a questioning look that drifted from him to the house, around the driveway and back to him.

August 1832: Two months after the fall of the barricade, Enjolras pays Grantaire a visit.
Grantaire looked at the silver line tracing across Enjolras' cheekbone, occupying almost the exact same spot as his own new facial trophy. The mark on Enjolras was shallow and unobtrusive. It was thin as a hair. A sharp edged pamphlet thrown with sufficient velocity could probably have left a worse scratch.
"Golden ideal, marred," said Grantaire mournfully. "A stain upon the Republic herself. It cannot be borne, not by a fervent devotee of the revolution such as I."
Enjolras glared daggers into him. "I have come here to tell you that I don't care about your facial disfigurement and that you ought to come back. Stop mocking me."
Grantaire ignored him, floating on the euphoria of wine and Enjolras. He reached up and touched the thin, milky line on Enjolras' cheek.Series
