Summary
Six months ago, Feng Xin and Mu Qing locked themselves in Xie Lian’s kitchen during a housewarming party, drank an entire bottle of cheap tequila, screamed out their deepest childhood traumas, and accidentally made out against the pantry door.
Now, they live together. They are genuinely, deeply in love. They also currently locked in an escalation of petty domestic sabotage that includes freezing car keys in blocks of ice, hiding cat food on top of the refrigerator, and gluing left shoes to the ceiling fan.
They thought they were being incredibly subtle. Their friends, who just wanted to eat breakfast in peace without witnessing a sudden, accidental display of deeply domestic hair-tucking, beg to differ.

That startled a laugh out of him, his heart jumping and fluttering in his chest like an absolute fool at such an absurd notion. ‘Eh? What are you talking about? How drunk are you?’
Feng Xin and Mu Qing make the seven-hour flight to Las Vegas for Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan's (secret) wedding. Mu Qing copes with a severe, newly-discovered phobia of flying by drinking through it. Feng Xin is left to deal with the fallout.

Mu Qing sat beneath the sloped roof of one of Nan Yang’s many temples scattered across the mortal realm, the weight in his chest far heavier than the wounds he bore. The air was still, save for the rapid thud of his heart beating wildly not just from the frantic escape he’d just endured, but from something far less tangible, far more suffocating.
Before him stood the stone likeness of Feng Xin, carved in reverence but lacking the warmth and life of the man it represented. The statue offered no comfort, only the stark reminder of who he had nearly called out to. Who he might have to.
Whatever had attacked him had worn the faces of people he once trusted. It had cursed him, drained him, left him barely clinging to consciousness. His spiritual energy was too weak to use the communication array, his limbs trembling from the weight of pain and confusion.
Mu Qing knew what had to be done.
But doubt clung to him like a second skin. Would Feng Xin hear him if he prayed? And if he did… would he come?
Would he care?
TLDR: Mu Qing needs to pray at a Nan Yang temple for help. Feng Xin was late leaving Mu Qing to be tortured.

He doesn’t want Mu Qing to die.
It’s a small realization, and perhaps a silly one, but since then, it curls along the edges of Feng Xin’s heart, tightening its grip whenever he looks at Mu Qing, whenever Mu Qing sneers and insults him and reminds Feng Xin that he really should have trusted him.
