Summary
The boys eat breakfast, then go shopping.
Bolaire wants to change things, to make a new life for himself...which includes Hal. And no, he isn't pining at all.
Hal tags along. He just wants to be with Bolaire, to make certain he'll be fine. Hal isn't pining, either.
Clothes, a gift, and impure thoughts.
Nope, no pining whatsoever.

Summary
He'd lived a long life. He'd been married, with children and grandchildren. He'd loved his life, but was ready for his husband to come and find him, and take him home for the last time.
And then, the handsome Orc showed up.

Summary
Bolaire goes to the Archanade to see if Lady Cormoray shows up...and figures out a few things (Some may be correct, others not, but that is the nature of the universe). At least he has Azune with him because there was no way Bolaire was going to do this alone.
Hal stays at home, worries a lot, and Murray really doesn't do much in the way of easing his mind (she does some, but then...well, it's Murray).
Oh, and Elodie and the girls decide it's time for a celebration (no one argues against that).

Summary
Bolaire leaves.
He leaves the city that once had been his home, his chance— "Everything starts as an illusion first." — before the machinations of Thjazi Fang had poisoned everything.
He leaves; hands himself over, vulnerable, although he knows the next time he will open his eyes is when he will be sacrificed.
After all what is his life — no the destruction of a thing, in the face of the greater good?

Summary
"There were casualties, last night," Murray sighs, pouring one out for Teor, for Cyd, for Hannan, none of whom she knew half as well as she'd have liked. "Your Uncle was not among them." She hastens to add.
"But neither can he stay in the city, as things stand," she continues. "You're on the enchantment track, Hero, you're not blind to the political machinations of this city. Things are bad, right now."
"Alright," she says, blowing out a slow breath. "Thank you, professor. I'm taking the day off for a family emergency."
Murray Mag'Nesson watches Hero D'vyen stalk from her office, and she does not envy Hal.
Hal smiles at her as Hero makes her way into the house. It's small and strained, and he drops it after a moment when she simply stares at him blankly.
"Hero, kiddo?" He prompts, worried now.
"Who chased Uncle Bolaire away from his home, from his family," she snarls suddenly in Rungjani, "and when can I smash their face in?"

Summary
Hal, one hand on the book in his lap, recognises the knock immediately.
“That’s Azune,” he says, with some confusion.
“That cannot be good.”
When stress affects Azune’s sleep, Hal reminds him of where he’s always welcome as family, and enjoys a daily, and nightly, domestic dance with Bolaire.

Summary
He quickens his pace, as he hears his brother talking indistinctly. Thjazi will know where to look, or will know someone who can find Bolaire.
Because the other man has never, not once missed one of their
datesmeetups. And it isn't as though Hal hadn't gone over. Of course he had. He'd let himself in, but there was no one home. And they couldn't have missed each other, because Hal had stuck around for an hour at the café.And so, if anyone knows a man who knows a man who knows where Bolaire is, it will be Thjazi.
