Summary
The entire time, he kept checking his wrist every few minutes. He knew there was supposed to be a short, sharp burning sensation when the names appeared, but he still felt the need to check.
Just after the cookies went into the oven and the phone had rung with the call of a classmate the burning sensation finally appeared. Steve cursed and almost dropped the phone in his haste to look at his arm.
“What the fuck?”Robin Buckley
Eddie MunsonThose were the names on Steve’s wrist.
On their eighteenth birthday, everyone gets the name of their two soulmates on their arms. One is assumed to be a platonic soulmate, and the other a romantic soulmate. There is no indication which one is which.

Summary
This wouldn't be the only time Ilya got to see colors. No matter what happened, which teams they ended up getting drafted to, they would start their careers together and they would play against each other again. Ilya would get to experience this again. He knew his soulmate, knew he would see him again. It wouldn't be like it had been for his mother. The colors would not disappear from his life with no idea if he’d ever get to see them again.
Soulmates can only see color when in proximity to each other. Ilya sees color for the first time at a practice rink in Saskatchewan.

Summary
Shane opened the messages again when he was in bed. It was stupid and neither focusing on hockey, nor working towards bringing a girl home at some point, but he sent: 'Merry Christmas' to Rozanov before turning off his phone for the night.
When Shane turned his phone back on the next morning, Rozanov's 'Merry Christmas, Jane' was waiting for him. Sent only a few minutes after Shane's message.
Or: Five times Ilya and Shane don't spend special occasions together and one time they do.

After Shane accidentally teleports to Boston and straight into Ilya’s bed, they have to figure out how Shane can make it back to Detroit in time for his game the next day. Without clothes, his ID or his phone.
There are also some feelings - they may, or may not have for each other - to deal with.(Did I forget to add a summary because I posted this way too late last night? Maybe. But better late than never, right?)
