“You wish for me to infiltrate their ranks, master?”
Dark Link tries to keep the incredulous disbelief from his voice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter how idiotic this plan or his master is being. If that was what Demise wanted, that would be what it got. Demise did not accept disobedience. Or failure.
Which is how Dark finds himself staring down the blades of nine heroes, wondering why this is his life.
“So,” he begins. “Sorry ‘bout the whole, uh, trying to kill you repeatedly for millennia thing.” For some reason, this makes the heroes tense further. “…No hard feelings?”

“When I summoned you, Shadow Link, I expected you to follow orders,” Demise seethes, glaring down at him with the hatred the god is so well known for. “Kill the heroes, I commanded you. And what do you do?” He slams his fists down onto the arms of his gaudy throne, cracking the stone. “Pull pranks?!”
“Distractions,” Shadow lies smoothly, wondering if it is possible for a god to perish from high blood pressure. “To lead them astray from the Goddesses’ mission.”
“I want them dead, not distracted!”
Shadow fights not to laugh. Well, that’s not going to happen. If Demise wanted them dead so badly, he should have picked a minion that actually gave a shit about his world-ending nonsense.
Besides, if the heroes were dead, Shadow Link wouldn’t be having nearly so much fun.

Summary
Time shuffles up to standing, taking in his surroundings. There isn’t much to see, unfortunately. The cell is built of solid stone bricks, the floor covered in dust, scraps of rubble, and questionable dark stains. The front of the cell is a wall of metal bars, cut through the middle by a door with a thick lock. He walks over and grabs the bars of the door, shaking them testingly. They barely budge.
The sound of shuffling chains reaches his ears.
“…Is someone there?” he asks cautiously.
When the reply comes, it’s dry and sarcastic. “I wish I wasn’t.”

Time gets tossed into prison, one even he has trouble escaping from... His only company? A snippy and sarcastic stranger in the next cell over.

Summary
Okay, maybe Wind was being a little mean. Hyrule was a friendly guy. Despite his Third Rank, he was one of the best magic users out of any Link that Wind knew. He probably would’ve been a bit bitter about it, but Hyrule was so kind and sincere that it was difficult to stay upset for long. No, having Hyrule over wasn’t a problem at all.
The problem was that wherever he went, there was also Legend. And Legend was an asshole.

In a modern society where things like monsters and crime are considered problems of the past, an organization of elite soldiers are needed to keep the status quo in place. And when one of them starts acting oddly, well...it's only natural that the others would want to help. Summary
Standing behind the new hero was…another him, only slightly different. And also a ghost. That part was very important to note.
The ghost wore the same clothing as Wild, but his hair was much shorter, neater and more restrained. His skin was smooth and nearly unblemished. Though his expression came off as blank and severe, Wind could see the sadness that pulled at the corners of his eyes, the weight that curved his shoulders slightly inwards. He hardly moved.
OR: The version of Wild that died in the Calamity follows him around. Wind can see ghosts. These two facts are not unrelated.

Mask had a god on his belt. Soldiers spoke in whispers of the deity that the boy could unleash, the obliteration of enemy lines, the way the tide of battle could turn on a dime when Mask so willed it. Some of the whispers were awed, some were fearful. Some were jealous.
“Why not just let the Deity fight the war?” some brave souls asked. “Why involve us at all?”
The Captain was not pleased with those questions, and for a time, the whispers subsided. And then they began again, with a new question this time.
Why entrust a child with such power?
Or: The Fierce Deity teaches a few lessons.
