He got a grunt of acknowledgement, and then Ghost was back on his bed, all the way. Reading his book again. His eyes scanned the pages slowly, like he was all too aware of how John’s eyes were stuck on him. After a few minutes of the constant cramping, the lieutenant turned his attention from the book back to him. His gaze weighed a thousand kilos.
“You look like shit.”
“Observant,” he bit back. “I feel like shit.”
