You grow up with your parents telling you stories of the faeries and other mythical creatures like goblins and trolls. Your parents say how mischievous fairies play pranks on travelers in the woods. And you remember asking them if they were real, like the monster we know that's underneath the bed. And they tell you that yes, fairies and witches and all those other myths are real, but as you age, you learn that they don't exist. They're just stories that your mom and dad tell you so that you'll go to bed. These stories have been said to kids through the ages. But I'm here to tell you differently. Those stories and myths that you hear growing up do exist. And they're closer than you think. You're just not looking close enough. Follow me, and I'll take you on a journey through the two realms- the human world and the Otherworld, filled with magical wonders. Summary
Percy had agreed to spend the summer in Atlantis. His mother had been rather persuasive about it, and the growing tensions between him and Annabeth had convinced him that getting away from dry land and taking a step back would do him a world of good.
He had simply forgotten that he had never spent more than two days in a row in Atlantis and that, as a result, he knew nothing about its customs and traditions.
Not to mention that his father would probably see this as an opportunity to convince him to stay, this time for good.

A few warnings before you read, I'm mainly basing this on the timeline of the books, not the series. Because of this, Percy is now legal, Annabeth is working on architectural plans for Olympus, and I intended to focus on the undersea family. There is absolutely no Annabeth bashing in this story !

Summary
The Coins control the world. They're genetically engineered to be perfect. They own everything. Holding all the cash and all the cards, they are as untouchable as the gods on Mount Olympus.
In this universe, Greek myth forms the basis of a technologically-advanced society where a few privileged people have everything, and everyone else is either chasing their scraps or working outside the law. One of the most common ways to get ahead is to become a Coin's human "pet" -- sexual playthings that are openly used by Coins and their friends whenever and wherever the Owner pleases.
Autolycus, a thief, catches the eye of Rhys, a Coin. When Autolycus later gets caught on a job, he agrees to become Rhys's pet in exchange for not being sent to prison. But the Coins didn't get to be where they are by playing nice, and there is darkness and intrigue amongst all the endless pursuit of pleasure and sensual thrills.
Meanwhile, Autolycus's friends seek to rescue him, while some of Rhys's old friends worry about his new, strangely perfect pet. VR Training is effective, but not that effective when your pet comes from the slums and has only been around for a few weeks!
All of these lives become intertwined.
