It is 1934. The Magnus Institute has not YET been infested with worms; though, Mr. Blackwood surely has rambled on about them plenty, to the Archivist’s horror. Furthermore, Jonathan Sims reads a statement from one Arthur Lester that feels far too much like a man reaching into a different sort of wasp’s nest, (or rather like one is reaching into HIM), and curiosity truly is an awful sort of thing. Jon has always been quite a moth to a flame, hasn’t he?
Or; AU in which Arthur and John are part of the TMA universe but everyone is in 1934 and things get… Insectoid.

The guy— Eiffel, he'd said his name was Eiffel —has his hands fisted on top of his head, a look of wide-eyed panic on his face. He's spitting questions like he's on a time limit. "How did you find me? Also where the hell are we? Why is your medbot so fancy? How far are we from the Hephaestus? Why is that rock packed in cling wrap?"
He turns to Grace, dragging in a huge breath as if to continue his rapid-fire interrogation. Then his expression morphs into something almost comically bewildered. "... Ryan Gosling??"
"Wha— Who??" Grace splutters.
Or: Almost three years after Simon's impossible appearance and rescue, Erid picks up another distress signal.
