Ratio’s eyes narrow at the other's face before his gaze trickles lower again. He stays quiet, seemingly in contemplation as he weighs the pros and cons. “...I have one question, and you must answer it honestly.” he states, raising a hand. “Will I be harmed in any way from this interaction; or more importantly, will I die?” he asks, gesturing his hand forward. “You must shake before you answer. You demons are bound to be truthful in little pacts like these, I know…”
Aventurine shakes the man’s hand and snorts.
“You aren’t going to die, so morbid, the worst you’ll get is lethargic, I’m not inexperienced, I know how to feed without killing. Lightheadedness, sore hips, fuzzy memory, it’ll feel like a shit hangover. And I’ll be out of your hair with a full belly, hm?”Ratio set his lips and then nodded.
“Very well, I agree to your terms, you said sex demons are born of ideas, elaborate.”Or a demon falls hard and fast for a man that will forget him, surely if he keeps showing up that’ll change.

Summary
Veritas' own need was perhaps tertiary at most in matters of importance in this moment. The biological pull to chase his pleasure was nothing compared to ensuring that Kakavasha 1) enjoyed this immensely and 2) understood just how important he was to Veritas and that sex was very welcome in their relationship.
There was no hope of not falling apart under the sensation, as Veritas, while not celibate, had gone quite a matter of time without something other than a clinical quick ordeal on nights where Kava's pajamas slipped off his shoulders, or when returning to a ship after a mission where the man had shot a target with such accuracy it made arousal surge through the doctor.
Needless to say, Veritas was beyond being smitten, he was obsessed with Kakavasha.
And he would imprint that truth into the man's mind until it was realized as the tenant of reality it was. Knowledge was for all who seeked it, idiocy was a disease, and Veritas Ratio is obsessed with Kakavasha of the Avgin. -

Summary
Kaveh was beginning to learn the man’s tricks; meals that didn’t need extra dishes were served on multiple pieces of fine porcelain, books were taken from the study and set on the divan. Alhaitham was cheating the damn system!
Then again, the house was remarkably clean, at least when more so than usual. Kaveh was folding laundry on the divan, messy piles organized by person and article. He was home early, before Alhaitham even, his hair tied up and Mehrak charging while he made the most of the free time from dishes.
The lock clunked and the door whined as it was forced open, Alhaitham stepping in and kicking off his boots. Kaveh tsked, returning his eyes to the socks he was pairing.
Alhaitham shuffled, a thump grabbing Kaveh’s attention.
Haitham’s boots sat lined against the wall beside his own slippers.
Well, this could be useful.

Aventurine leans against the balcony railing, gold city light catching against the rings on his fingers. “You know,” he says, “most people would’ve requested a different room by now.”
Dr. Ratio looks up from his datapad just long enough to meet his eyes. “Most people,” he replies calmly, “are less tolerable than you.”
For a second, Aventurine forgets how to answer.
Ratio notices that too.
Dr. Ratio and Aventurine are sent by the IPC to Somnus-V, a planet whose economy runs on traded memories and emotion. As they navigate the upper district’s political elite, the two find themselves being constantly monitored in a society built around emotional vulnerability and psychological control. Meanwhile, Aventurine’s growing feelings for Ratio begin complicating a mission that was supposed to remain strictly professional.
