Summary
When Shen Yuan transmigrated into the webnovel Proud Immortal Siren Way as a human, he accepted he’d never get to interact with the main plot. One day, as he’s on another one of the system’s pointless missions on the coastal cliffs, he slips and falls down into a dark cavern. Inside he finds a severely injured merman chained to the wall. The mer’s fins had been messily torn off and his tail was completely shredded, a sight that shocked even Shen Yuan. Upon freeing the mer he refused to return back to the sea, forcing Shen Yuan to bring the injured mer back with him.
Due to the extent of his injuries, it was unlikely the mer would ever fully recover without the use of a powerful panacea. The mer, Shen Jiu, proposed another solution. Why don’t they just find a way to give him legs instead!
(Or, Shen Jiu gets the little mermaid treatment, kinda.)

John felt him struggle a bit more in his arms, something he should most certainly not be able to do so soon, and so he tightened his limbs around him. They were too out in the open here, it gave too much opportunity for his prey to get away or maneuver around on him for another attack. Then something else could also come along and snatch him away from John. That just wouldn't do.
