Summary
Four days after The Battle of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy arrives unexpectedly at Number 12 Grimmauld Place. While the battle is won and Voldemort is dead, the War is far from over. Alone, with nowhere else to go and nothing to lose, he offers himself up to The Order to go undercover and find the remaining Death Eaters who’ve fled Great Britain after the Battle’s aftermath. In this tenuous new world, second chances are rare, but Draco Malfoy is given his.

It starts in Fifth Year, the glances. Folds over as they age, as darkness consumes Hogwarts. She notices him, he doesn't speak much. The years go by, then the war begins, and somehow they're tied together. The evolution of a dark knight of Voldemort, and the metamorphosis of a bird in his cage.
Theodore Nott was acquitted of his crimes, his servitude toward the Dark Lord proven involuntary. But there was a colossal absence of time before the the Dark Lord was brought to his knees that nobody can understand, because Nott had been missing. He concealed the truth in his trial, but his role in the war deserved honor, so Nott was allowed to return to Hogwarts for a mandatory eighth year with the others. The case hangs over his head, and the girl is too clever to let the mystery evanesce.
Death returns to Hogwarts, though, on Nott's heels.

It’s Spring at Hogwarts. In her 7th and final year, head girl Hermione spends her last few months at Hogwarts studying for her N.E.W.Ts…. And also becoming extremely close to Draco Malfoy due to her new status as his tutor. Malfoy, who spent way too much time partying and hooking up with random Slytherin girls, found himself in this situation as he had little time left to focus for his exams, and not a whole lot of motivation to do so. Hermione’s had a crush on him for years, but loathes herself for it due to his constant tormenting and teasing, which definitely persists even when she’s helping him study. Much to her dismay, Draco is also caught up in a love triangle between Pansy Parkinson and Cassia Carrow, both of which also torment her. Throughout their work together, all Draco wants to do is go out to social events and Slytherin parties with his friends, even if it means dragging Hermione there with him. Hermione (painstakingly) fights the urge to let her crush on him corrupt her, holding onto her “good girl” status until she can pass her exams and become a graduated practicing wizard.
