A simple cover: act like a couple, get in, get out. Unfortunately, Chuuya is extremely good at the part where he touches Dazai like he’s allowed—and even better at kissing him like Dazai won’t kiss back.

Summary

Summary
Chuuya had done this before after missions, after fights, after Dazai came home pretending he wasn’t sore. He always pretended he didn’t like it, which was a lie. Now Dazai didn’t pretend at all.
He made a sound so soft it almost didn’t exist—bordering on a whimper. Chuuya’s hands moved down, kneading along the muscles beside Dazai’s spine. Every time Chuuya hit a knot, Dazai let out little whine, half pain, half relief.
“Stop making noises like that,” Chuuya muttered.
“I can’t help it,” Dazai whined.
“Yes you can.”
“No,” Dazai insisted, voice wobbling. “It hurts and it feels good and I’m sick.”
Dazai doesn’t ask for help when he’s sick like a normal person. He whines, he clings, he complains like it’s his job—and he feels awful enough that even Chuuya can’t pretend it’s just annoying.
or: Chuuya acts exasperated. Dazai acts dramatic. They both know Chuuya will baby the fuck out of him anyway.

Summary
Chuuya scowled. “I mean, it’s not—what, did you think I’d just—show up with a teddy bear? We’re in the goddamn Mafia. We’ve got blood on our hands. We’ve got—”
“Right,” Dazai said, nodding too fast. “No, Chuuya is right. It was silly of me.”
Chuuya’s mouth opened. Closed. He looked furious at the universe.
Dazai, very carefully, did not let his voice shake. “I’ll go.”
“Dazai—”
Dazai stepped back. His body felt far away. Like he was watching himself from the ceiling. Like he was moving through water.
He had, somewhere in his coat pocket, a folded piece of paper—a card he’d made because the etiquette guide said cards were traditional and because the idea of giving Chuuya something felt like leaving a small, secret piece of himself somewhere safer than his own skin.
He did not take it out.

Summary
At fifteen, Dazai Osamu decided that Valentine’s Day was a ritual.
This was not because he believed in romance. Or sincerity. Or even holidays, really. It was because Valentine’s Day was selective, and Dazai had recently discovered that this year, for the first time, he qualified.
Eligibility mattered.
He did not immediately think of Chuuya. That came later. Inevitably.
or: dazai tries to make a valentine’s day card. it detonates. chuuya keeps it anyway.

Summary
They had rules. Not spoken ones—spoken rules were too easy to weaponize. Their rules lived in habits.
One of those habits was: Chuuya didn’t assume. Not about touch. Not about sex. Not about affection.
Dazai was… complicated. He wasn’t someone who wanted in a simple way. Want, for him, was a thing that came with hooks and history and a thousand reasons to flinch. Sometimes he did want. Sometimes he wanted with an intensity that made Chuuya’s hands shake, because it wasn’t casual. It wasn’t a distraction. It was Dazai letting him in.
And sometimes Dazai didn’t want anything at all, and the difference was subtle—so subtle that in the beginning Chuuya had missed it and hated himself for it afterward.
or: Chuuya learns Dazai in the ways that matter—when to pull, when to hold, when to let him drift—and Dazai, in return, keeps choosing him. Some nights it’s heat, some nights it’s just staying. Either way, it’s still them.

Summary
Dazai blinked up at Chuuya like he’d been dragged out of a dream too fast—hair a mess, mouth parted and bitten-raw, eyes bright and unfocused. His pupils were blown in that sickeningly endearing way that made Chuuya want to bury his head in Dazai’s chest and sink the earth into its own foundations.
He looked pretty. He looked wrecked. He looked like he’d hate anyone else seeing him like this.
There were too many warring emotions in Chuuya’s chest to make sense of any of them, but he knew what he wanted to do, so he did it—he leaned in and kissed the exposed gap at Dazai’s throat where the bandages had unraveled, so careful it almost didn’t make sense.
Dazai’s throat moved. He tried to smirk. Couldn’t quite get it to stick. Then Chuuya opened his mouth and sunk his teeth into the vulnerable skin—gentle, but undeniably possessive. A claim placed right where Dazai’s pulse betrayed him.
You are alive. I won’t let you leave.
Chuuya’s patience is a kind of pressure. Dazai caves to it in increments.
or: valentine’s day, teeth, then warmth. a bruise that feels like being kept, or maybe a few.
