His bed was empty, the pillows and blankets weirdly tousled. "Hmm, he's usually in his room at this time. Messy bed, too? Ugh, what is that cookie up to..."
...
Displayed through the crystal was blood mixing with the sink's running water.

Pure Vanilla let his head rest against the beast's shoulder again, his voice as sweet as honey. "Good morning, my bluebird."
Or, Shadow Milk finds Pure Vanilla sleeping outside, and brings him in to find the ancient hero right at his side as he wakes up.

Summary
"Shadow Milk?..." At first, his eyes couldn't pick up on anything, but as he looked closer, he could see the glow of two narrowed eyes.
The glow revealed the silhouette of a huge wolf, practically taking up half of the room, even in its crouched state. Pure Vanilla gasped at the sight, fully entering the room. He walked closer to the beast, his tone tender. "Oh... Oh dear, my bluebird turned into a big, bad wolf."
Or, Shadow Milk is upset, and now Pure Vanilla has to comfort him when he's wolfed out.

Summary
The hatefully familiar silver shine bore into Shadow Milk's tear-glazed eyes.
His old prison stretched endlessly before him, every cursed inch exactly as he remembered—the same tree that had caged him for centuries, the same suffocating metallic air that had never quite felt like home.
...
His eyes snapped open to their shared bedroom, where Pure Vanilla's warmth had long since replaced the bitter chill of silver walls. But the phantom taste of metallic air still lingered on his tongue, a reminder of what isolation truly meant.
Or, Shadow Milk has a nightmare and he has to get over it.

He couldn't describe it, but a part of him felt envious. The way he so calmly dealt with animals, in contrast to his earlier attitude, made him feel an emotion he was not yet accustomed to feeling.
Guilty? Maybe. Regretful? Probable.
Whatever it was, he didn't like it. He was willing to do anything to get rid of it as soon as possible.
OR: Early redemption Shadow Milk says words that hurt the ancient he's been trying ever so hard to try and like. His solution to the problem? He certainly doesn't use his words.
