Everytime Adam showed up with a new bruise, Ronan wanted to either trace it gently and take away all of Adam's pain or else drive to the trailer park and smash his fist into Robbert Parrish's face. Summary
Noah had never really let himself hope of it. He had known it was impossible, so hoping was pointless. But it was hard to not think of how things would have been if he was alive. But now, Ronan's words sparked the hope he had buried deep in his chest. “I would like that, I think,” he said. He didn’t know if he could cry, but his chest felt painfully tight and Ronan’s hard blinking eyes and sniffles made it worse.

Ronan was relieved that Adam was finally free of his father. He would gladly go to jail and even live with Declan if it meant Adam was safe. But he knew Adam wouldn't feel free. He wanted to get out on his own, not like this. Ronan wondered if Adam was angry at him. He desperately wished that wasn't the case, but even if he was, even if he hated him, Ronan could live with that.

Ronan walked out to the living room, thinking of getting some coffee. He was not surprised to see that it wasn't empty; Gansey spent nights awake here. What surprised him was that it was Adam sitting there, scribbling something on a notebook.

Since Ronan Lynch had seen Blue Sargent, he was jealous of her. So, when he found out that they fought, technically, he should have been glad.
But he wasn't. Actually, he was the opposite of that. Because no matter how much he disliked seeing Adam with Blue, seeing him sitting here, looking dejected like that, was worse.

Adam was standing there in Ronan's t-shirt that hung low on his shoulders, exposing his collarbones and the freckles on his neck. He was rubbing his eyes with hands covered by the long sleeves and his sleep mussed hair fell over his forehead. He felt him stiffen and almost pulled back, but then Ronan relaxed and put his head on top of Adam’s and Adam heaved out a breath. Ronan removed his hand and before Adam could miss the contact, he shifted to wrap his arm around Adam and the ache in his chest subsided just a little. He didn’t remember the last time he had felt this safe and at home in someone’s arms.'

Ronan shifted a bit closer so that their foreheads were nearly touching and his hand brushed Adam's lying between their chests. “Don't let his words get to you. He knows he's going to lose, that's why he is trying to do this. The court is going to see that he is guilty and he won't ever touch you again.”
“I don't know if that will stop him,” Adam admitted in a quiet voice that if they weren't so close, Ronan wouldn't have heard him.
“If he tries anything, I won't let him,” Ronan promised.
