He felt him stiffen and almost pulled back, but then Ronan relaxed and put his head on top of Adam’s and Adam heaved out a breath. Ronan removed his hand and before Adam could miss the contact, he shifted to wrap his arm around Adam and the ache in his chest subsided just a little. He didn’t remember the last time he had felt this safe and at home in someone’s arms.'

Ronan shifted a bit closer so that their foreheads were nearly touching and his hand brushed Adam's lying between their chests. “Don't let his words get to you. He knows he's going to lose, that's why he is trying to do this. The court is going to see that he is guilty and he won't ever touch you again.”
“I don't know if that will stop him,” Adam admitted in a quiet voice that if they weren't so close, Ronan wouldn't have heard him.
“If he tries anything, I won't let him,” Ronan promised.

Summary
This wall with ordinary photographs often made Adam stop in his tracks. It was just...something different. Maybe because it was probably the most normal thing in this house. Maybe because Adam never had any family pictures like this. Maybe because even though the Lynch family had been far from perfect, this was a reminder that there was always love and laughter here. Maybe because it was what a family actually looked like.
Adam Parrish never knew what it felt like to have a family. But slowly, he makes a family and makes memories captured in frames.
