Summary
Ben Kenobi expected his tutelage on Tatooine under the force spirit of Qui-Gon Jinn to yield a new perspective on the galaxy and his place within it. He just did not expect his last lesson to be so…literal. Finding himself back in the early days of the Clone Wars, Ben, now once again General Obi-Wan Kenobi, must struggle with the failures of a past he has long suppressed, while others conspire to give him hope for a future that might yet be.
It is a road paved with military campaigns, media faux pas, too many OCs to name, good Jedi, and a very very slowly developed angst that will eventually come to a boil. An exploration of war and friendship, and the moral grays of the Star Wars universe.

“Right.” Boba was too drunk and Obi-Wan was too dead for them to be having this conversation. “So, what are you doing here, if you’re actually dead and I’m not hallucinating.”
Obi-Wan sighed a little bit. “I’m here to ask a favor that may or may not ruin your life.”
Boba blinked at him. “Well, at least you’re honest about it."
Obi-Wan looked exhausted. Boba had always kind of assumed that dying meant you got to rest, but Obi-Wan seemed far from rested. “Vader has gotten an idea in his head—” And yep, Boba could see where Obi-Wan was going with his whole ‘may or may not ruin his life’ bit. “—that he can change the past.”
Boba snorted. “Has anyone ever told Vader that he’s delusional? You can’t change the past."
Except Obi-Wan didn’t agree.

Every race in the galaxy that is soulbound has its own way of identifying soulmates. Humans have fated words imprinted on their skin. Twi'leks and Togruta hear the voices of their partners in their dreams. Wookiees and Lasat see the world in black and white until the moment they meet their partner.
Kallus liked to tell himself he'd long since ceased to think about the words inked onto his forearm in deep violet, partly obscured by the angry scars from a Lasat's claws. But the truth was he knew them perfectly. He could picture every hard line and soft curl of each beautiful letter, as if some vindictive god had written the words out with a delicate hand, but with angry strokes, the words just as much a blessing as they were a curse.

Zeb had believed in the dream of a soulmate all his life, watching with joy as his sisters' worlds blossomed into color, waiting impatiently for the day when he might see the galaxy through new eyes. Didn't it just figure that on the very day everything he'd ever known was going up in ash and smoke, his own world would suddenly burst into colors he didn't want, all from a single glimpse of one young Imperial.
