Ae was working in a mailroom sorting an intake bag into piles by destination when a sudden commotion came from the hall. A flask flew past aer face as ae looked out.
“I don’t care if they’re busy, I need the captain now!” screamed a quadrupedal being, jerking out of the grasp of a smaller bipedal staff member. They cantered forward and grabbed the flask from the ground and took a gulp, then glared down at Faja."

It was only a matter of time before CPS crossed the threshold of Wayne Manor. It comes as a surprise to no one that a bachelor billionaire, a British butler, and a circus kid doesn’t check all the boxes.
He knew he didn't deserve kids…especially not a kid like Dick, who was quickly proving to be the most selfless being Bruce had ever encountered. He didn't deserve it, and yet he found himself wanting. Bruce liked this. Dick had put new air into his and Alfred's lungs. What would he do if CPS found him unfit? What would happen to Dick?
"Fortunately, he has the city's most ardent defender at his beck and call," Alfred said evenly, a kind raise of his brow softening the dry sarcasm.

Batman continued, "My son. His name is Dick"— stupid name, Jason thought—"and he might be in the cave when we arrive. You may find his appearance and speech… unsettling, but he's not a threat. If he bothers you, I will tell him to leave."
In fairness, Jason did remember Batman talking about his son. Something about how it made him some expert foster parent or something, which was, frankly, a funny thing to brag about while actively shoving the child you’re kidnapping into the back of your car.
