Summary
When a particularly catastrophic shift turns the growing ache in Stevie's abdomen to utter agony, time begins to blur together. She self-medicates with all the clinical precision she can muster through a haze of exhaustion and alcohol — but the haze is thick, and her precision fleeting.
It doesn't occur to Stevie that a skilled consultant could take too much and not notice. Not until she's sprawled upon the toilet floor, fighting for her life.
A ghost from her past appears soon after in Holby, bringing her back from the brink of death — little does Stevie know, surviving was only the beginning.
While wrestling with the news that her condition is worse than they'd first diagnosed, Stevie must juggle her existing relationships with a new one - one that forces her to confront the demons she'd buried a long time ago in the name of survival.
Set in the near future, disregards the Bard storyline.
Faith is single. Pearl doesn't exist. Neither does Claire. Poor gal never does on this account.
