    Sometimes, the Fates take special care in certain strings. They weave these more carefully. Thoughtfully. Godly strings glow gold. These strings have a distinct golden sheen.

     

    Percy Jackson achieved both of these. It doesn't matter he turned down the offer of godhood. It would come.

    To become a god, one needed only two things:

    But humanity had only learned to prevent, not to withstand.
    And there was no preventing a god.

    Dionysus was cells drunk on possibility, rot turning into sweetness under the right pressure, chemistry deciding to misbehave—bonds loosening, neurons firing out of rhythm, blood warming as if remembering an older law.
    His skin was fermentation heat and bruised fruit, the invisible labor of microbes rewriting reality molecule by molecule. He was laughter arriving before sound, identity loosening molecule by molecule in his wake. He wore no true face, just death repeating as rebirth and the roar of crowds, where individuality drowned, in breath shared between strangers until bodies moved as one.
    He was the moment identity began to blur—the second your name stopped fitting inside your mouth. He was the slippage between thought and action, the widening crack where reason fell through and something older climbed out.

    Percy stares at the stack of forms in front of him, and tries to resist the urge to bang his head on the coral desk. When his dad had offered him the position of becoming one of Atlantis's ambassadors Percy had been ecstatic. The position would give him many more opportunities to spend time with his dad and the chance to actually visit Atlantis.

    He never imagined that it would include so much damn paperwork. He's only filling out the application, and he already feels like he's drowning in forms. Percy groans and rests his head in his palms. Maybe he shouldn't have accepted his dad's offer. He's in over his head.

    Day 3, Alternate Prompt: Percy accidentally sees Poseidon and Amphitrite making out, and is scarred for life. Triton and Hermes laugh at him.
    Day 4, Nightmare / Cuddling: Percy has a nightmare, and accidentally hurts Amphitrite. Triton makes it worse. Poseidon makes it better.
    Day 5, Rescue: Poseidon rescues Percy from Akhlys in Tartarus.
    Day 6, Sea siblings: Tyson rebels against Poseidon and leaves to find Percy on his own.
    Day 7, Fatally Wounded: AU where Percy gets stabbed in his mortal spot and Poseidon saves his life.
