Summary
Colin walks away from her and Penelope gets the sudden urge to film the moment. She picks up her phone and starts recording just as the applause for Francesca is dying, and captures Colin taking a steadying breath. Right before he exits to the stage, he turns to look at her once more. When he sees Penelope filming, he smirks, sticks his tongue out and winks at her, and then the public roars again as he appears under the spotlights.
The video will be amazing, she knows. A blend of Colin, the famous artist and Colin, the goofy boy she fell in love with condensed in twenty seconds. Penelope has spent her whole life believing she could only have space in Colin’s life if she resigned herself to be the best friend who would never ask for more, but tonight is proving to be different.
