Summary
Mike isn’t sure exactly how long it’s been, but definitely far past the thirty-minute timer he set and then promptly ignored when it went off. By now, his head is starting to throb again from staring at a screen for so long, which is probably a sign that he should put his phone down and get started on his chemistry problem set. He’s not even really watching the stupid reels anymore, really, only letting them play for half a second before he scrolls again out of sheer mindless habit.
And then he stops. Scrolls back up.
There it is, in the bottom left hand corner with that little heart indicating a like– Will’s profile picture.
And this– well, this is enough to capture Mike’s long-fried attention span once more.
When Will likes an Instagram Reel about being in a "gut-wrenching situationship", Mike becomes determined to find the guy responsible for breaking his best friend's heart. This is not an overreaction at all.
...OK, maybe just a little.

Summary
Mike Wheeler gets accused of being homophobic at work, which is not on his 90s office bingo card. So in a full-blown panic and desperate to prove he’s not that guy, he lies to his coworkers that he’s gay and (for extra credibility) already has a boyfriend. Which would’ve been fine. Except it isn’t, because his department wins an all-expenses-paid company vacation, and his boss has already happily signed Mike up with a plus-one.
Now Mike has a boyfriend who doesn’t exist, a workplace that’s way too invested in his love life, and exactly zero ideas how to survive ten days without the lie collapsing like a poorly stapled brochure.

Summary
"Since when do you listen to The Cure by choice? Be honest, do you secretly like this?" Will asked, quirking a brow.
"You like it," Mike grinned. "Thought it might be nice to listen to some of your sinister shit."
Will scoffed, "It's not sinister, Mike."
"Okay, creepy, then"
"It's not creepy either, small-town boy. It's deeper than that. You can't just take it at face value."
"Small-town boy?!" He squealed. "You're using Bronski against me now?"
"Maybe," Will laughed, shaking his head. "Some songs have deeper meanings. You just have to actually listen."
OR
An exploration into the tortured mind of college-bound Mike Wheeler and his journey to self discovery and acceptance. A love song punctuated by grief, shame, painfully nerdy D&D references, and uncanny song-lyrics.
