    When Itadori Yuuji was one a curse broke into his room. There was nothing special about this curse. When it looked down at the baby in the crib, it saw not a young boy, but the vessel of a king. Not five minutes later the curse was gone, leaving the wailing of the boy behind. When his not mother and father came bursting in, nothing they did could console the boy, for his cheeks ran red with tears of blood from the secondary eyes that had split open his skin.

    The next morning, after finally coaxing the child to sleep once more, Itadori Jin awoke to find the brain matter of his wife splattered up the walls of their shared bedroom.

    At fifteen, Yuuji had grown used to the voice in his head craving violence and murder. It took only one mistake to uproot the careful equilibrium he had created. His friends had been caught by a curse, one he should have prevented. Now the sorcerers knew he existed. Now he was to be executed.
