Gon traced the lines of his mouth with an almost contemplative silence. “Killua,” he said. His eyes caught the shiver that shook through Killua’s whole body at his name. He pressed closer. Nose to nose, hot breath on Killua’s lips. His dark lashes tickled Killua’s face. “Killua.”
Killua wondered if Gon actually had anything to say at all, or if he just liked seeing the way Killua trembled at his name in his mouth.

When Gon blinks his eyes open, darkness greets him. A cool breeze from the air conditioner blows gently over his face. The blankets on top of him are soft and not too thick. And Killua is—
Oh.
That’s what’s wrong. Killua is gone.
Gon pushes himself up on one hand and feels the empty space in the bed where Killua should be. The sheets are slightly warm, meaning Killua can’t have left too long ago.
Clink!
Gon blinks. Another faint but undeniable sound echoes down the hallway. It's coming from the direction of the kitchen.
Immediately, all tiredness leaves Gon. He’s on his feet and rushing towards the bedroom door in the next second as panic races through his veins.

Last night Laurent had thrust his arm at Damen, “attend me,” he had commanded, as if Damen weren’t a king in his own right. Last night, Uncle had sat on his bed, played chess with him. “I will always have time for you,” he had reassured Laurent, “even though Auguste has outgrown you.”
Laurent leans to the side and vomits, violently. His fingers shake as he pushes his hair back, slowly, the room spins into focus. His hair is shorter than he remembers, Damen likes it long. His hair is exactly the same, cut by his nursemaid once a month.
He is thirteen, at Marlas, and he knows everything.

He loved Killua under the name 'Electrified' and wished for more every time they text, wished for more every time he teases, wished for more every time Killua fumbled with his keys because of embarrassment. It was Gon's fun time to tease the boy, have fun, forget about COVID-19. He didn't know that he'll appreciate someone online and love him truly anyway.
Phone sex, nudes, and more, Gon had his ultimate fun teasing the boy over the screen. But, both of them cherished every moment without them knowing...

The hardest part would be slipping Gon the poison.
That was the single thought running through Killua’s mind as the three of them left the King of Heart’s garden. Killua knew the poison would be the toughest challenge because Gon was Wonderland. He’d long ago stopped needing to drink or eat anything, or so he’d proudly told Killua.
But he would need to drink this because without it, Killua and Alluka wouldn’t stand a chance. They wouldn’t make it back to the tunnel where they first fell down, they wouldn’t ever return to normal life again. Because even after all these years Killua still knew Gon, knew him better than anyone, and Gon wouldn’t let him go.
So Gon had to drink the poison. The only question was how.

Killua couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. The job had been simple, and ultimately below his family’s paygrade, but Illumi had insisted on it since it was the first job he’s been allowed to be on in over three months after his unfortunate ‘slip up’. It was nothing more than a way to humiliate him, really. Although, in Illumi’s words it was ‘to get back in the rhythm of things after his time off’. Laughable, honestly. As if Killua was ever going to be afforded the luxury of losing his tact or his skillset.
The job had been simple and straightforward and his target had been an idiot, so Killua wasn’t sure why he felt so uneasy now that the job was over.Orr... Killua is an assassin and after one of his missions, catches the eye of one Gon Freecs. And he isn't content with letting Killua get away.
