After War, Jaime is King, Cersei wants to marry Bronn, Tyrion has committed treason, again. Brienne is in the North with Sansa. Sometimes she also rides a dragon casually and speaks Valyrian. Oh. And Jaime and Brienne are secretly married to each other and both make an utter mess out of it.
Excerpt:
“And what counts as your ugly brother? There have been rumours… of you and well, the esteemed Lady of Tarth, blessedly ugly from what I have heard, gliding through the Riverlands hand in hand.” Tyrion remarks offhandedly.
If Jaime had been a fool from before, he would have caught Tyrion by his throat and coax him to take his words back.
“Which hand?” he asks instead, as nonchalantly as he could.
Tyrion takes a beat to study him and lets it go, convinced he won’t find his answers just by asking.
“You do have to wed sometime soon. Your golden looks are already fading brother.” He says.
“But yours are not. Mayhaps you will marry and sire the heirs needed.”
“You keep on forgetting I am wed.”
As am I.
Jaime wants to say, but doesn’t.

Summary
Jaime Lannister, detective for the behavioral analysis department fallen from grace after a case gone wrong, is given a new assignment: A series of ritualistic murders relating to the Faith of the Seven, aimed at punishing sinners for their wrongdoings.
To help him catch the murderer, his boss enlists an expert of the Seven-Pointed Star as a consultant. Brienne of Tarth works at the convent of the Silent Sisters as a forensic pathologist and is one of the leading experts in the history of the Faith. She is not only set in her belief in the God's justice but also devoted to her mission of bringing justice to the dead.
Despite their disagreements, the two have to work together to catch the murderer before it's too late. Though the unusual pair soon has to see that they may share in more than meets the eye, some good, some bad, and some things that lie somewhere in-between.
And so, they embark on a most dangerous journey leading into the darkness lurking down below...

Summary
Jaime Lannister, against the odds of his injuries, survives the Red Keep's collapse.
This leaves not only him but many other people to deal with the aftermath of two queens fighting for the Iron Throne and so many losing because of it.
Foremost, it leaves Jaime to deal with his future, a future he thought he wouldn't ever have after what Brandon Stark said to him at Winterfell. And his future may come to affect those of many more people than he ever would have dared to believe. Yet, it leaves him to deal with his past, too. Because he left something behind at Winterfell, something very dear to him, and now that he survived, Jaime has to come to terms with the consequences of his choices.
And a whole nation has to decide on its own future, too.

Though luckily, he gets unexpected help from a tall woman who knows how to fire toy rifles - and handle a bunch of teenagers in her care, though this fair lady doesn't seem to view things the same way he does.

Summary
Brienne, daughter of Jarl Selwyn, finds herself at a point in her life where the home she sacrificed so much for seems in danger. Not only is she confronted with societal conventions running contrary to what the norns foretold, but also with a stranger coming to their small village North of the Vale:
The Kingslayer, Jaime Tywinson, a man whose dark reputation reaches into every corner of the continent.
While the man from Casterly Rock refuses to reveal his true intentions that led him to those stranger lands, it leaves the jarl with the tough decision of what to do with the Kingslayer now that he has invaded their territories, so not to bring Tywin Lannister up against them. After all, Selwyn does not wish for war, in contrast to most other jarls.
Thus, the norns bind the fate of the warrior and the shieldmaiden together in the most unexpected ways, wherein both have to realize that they have a lot more in common than meets the eye, as the two share in dark secrets from the past, painted in green flames.
However, just like the world is bound to repeat itself, those dark secrets may come back to light in the future close by.
And so, the norns weave their destiny, for better or worse...

However, distracting himself from that oh so precarious situation proves to be much more difficult than it should be.
And apparently, newspapers and recipes are no help whatsoever on the matter.
