Summary
The Montreal Metros didn't take the news of Shane's and Ilya's relationship well.
Shane would've never thought that their hatred could run this deep, until he finds himself lying half-conscious on the floor, with blood coating his lips and face.
In the aftermath, Shane tries to protect Ilya as much as he can, not wanting to bother him with his fears.
For Ilya it feels like Shane doesn't want him anymore, which causes him to spiral.
orAU fic set after Shane and Ilya's involuntary outing. A few teammates attack Shane. Ilya freaks out. Shane shuts everyone out. The following weeks are hell. Shane has to learn to overcome his fears.
Edit: This fic is complete but is currently edited (fixing grammar and spelling mistakes), and will be reuploaded chapter by chapter (so don't mind the "completed" date). Chapter 1-5 have now been edited.
