There were a few things Eddie’d been trying to incorporate into his life more upon his therapist's recommendation. One of these things was to listen to music a little more. He’d gotten into some classic rock, finding that to be the most soothing to listen to in his moments alone.
He hadn’t even noticed he’d been singing filling the kitchen with the lyrics of Jessie’s Girl, but Buck seemed to notice, bopping his head along to the tune with a small smile and watching him out of the corner of his eye as he tossed the salad a few feet away.
“'Cause she's watching him with those eyes
And she's loving him with that body, I just know it
And he's holding her in his arms late, late at night
You know, I wish that I was

Summary
Buck had a whole plan, one he was sure would go absolutely perfectly. You see, the department was doing this fancy ball for whatever reason, he didn’t read the whole email, and since neither he nor Eddie has a partner right then he asked him if he’d like it if they went together in like a friend way.
Obviously he did not mean it in a friend way but Eddie didn’t need to know that.
He’d thought of a few things but the ideas didn’t seem to play off very well in his head. Straight up asking him out wasn’t going to work since technically he’d already done that when he asked him to the ball in the first place. But with only a few days left to spare he came up with the most brilliant plan.
On Tuesday he’s going over to Eddie’s place after work for a beer which would mean it’s just those two since Chris’s friend was having a sleepover birthday party that day and would be gone at least until the next morning. They’d end up talking about the ball and he’d ask him if he knew how to dance and when he said no he’d offer to teach him. Bada bang bada boom.
There’s absolutely no way this could go wrong.
