How hypocritical those words seemed when he had just ripped her own dream away from her. How she despaired at losing the world she'd grown to love far more than her own.
And how cruel she'd been to doom those closest to her to such terrible suffering, because she couldn't reckon with her own.
She couldn't undo the past. But she could atone. If her sins had destroyed the friends she held so dear, at least she could honor their memories. Maybe they could have another chance, if she never sullied their lives with her selfishness.
