Summary
Wei Wuxian can't possibly tell Lan Zhan that he has the huatubing curse, which causes you to cough up flowers until you confess your love. The fact that it's not affecting Lan Zhan is proof enough that Lan Zhan doesn't feel the same way, right? So confessing would only make things awkward between them.
He'll just find another way to cure it.

Summary
"Uchiha," he murmurs, and his voice is cool and distant as glaciers.
Madara intends to have that icy reserve stripped from him before the night's end. He tightens his grip until Tobirama's lip trembles, until they part around a cracked sigh, and then holds him there, leaning to meet him.

Summary
Dinner is... surprisingly easy, the conversation flowing, and Tobirama eats through half a fillet and a good amount of curry and dumplings before he sits back, folding his hands on his lap and glancing at them both.
"Not that I do not appreciate the food and the company, but I know you did not invite me here only to discuss future construction. The demography and infrastructure offices have people who are better suited than I."
Madara and Izuna look at each other. There is really no getting anything past this man, and so Madara, after a heartbeat, takes the plunge.
"We both know you are dropping."
Tobirama stiffens. His hand stills where he's been drumming his fingers on his thigh. "You assume much."

Summary
The Emperor is scowling when he arrives at the villa. The servants send him furtive glances, but Ah Duo only raises an eyebrow as she pours him a cup of tea.
"Still haven't found anything suitable?" she asks.
"The old badger bought every bezoar in the country," the Emperor says. He drains his cup and sets it back down on the table with a clatter.
Or, when Jinishi and Maomao get engaged, the Emperor wants to send a gift. Lakan keeps beating him to the punch.

Summary
In the mortal realm, a storm is building with uncomfortable stillness. Watching from the Emperor's chambers in the Palace of Divine Might, Xie Lian feels almost nauseous with it.
It takes Jun Wu a few tries to get his attention.
"Ah, Xianle," the Emperor says with a fond smile and a shake of his head. "I might almost start to think that you didn't want this marriage after all."
Or, Jun Wu makes Xie Lian a deal.

Summary
The chains are too short to allow him much freedom of movement, but if he kneels just right, he can hide the long, chafing marks left on his wrists by the cuffs. He keeps them turned and tucked tight against the small of his back where Jun Wu won't be able to see them as he enters the throne room.
There is, unfortunately, no hiding the chafing around his neck, where the shackle jolts him every time he moves too much.
"Oh Xianle," Jun Wu sighs, his eyes going to the angry red marks around Xie Lian's neck. If he sat quietly and waited, as Jun Wu had told him he should, his neck would be smooth and unmarked. "I really wish you wouldn't."
Or, Jun Wu wants only one thing. Xie Lian refuses to give it to him.

“Wei Wuxian—” a shout echoed as a purple-robed cultivator stepped forward.
“Hello Jiang Cheng” Wei Wuxian said with a smirk from the cage villagers had thrown him in. Even from here, he could smell the anger from his pack-sibling. He lowered his arm, making sure the incessant twitch of his fingers was well hidden by the loose clothes.

“I’m going to kill that woman,” Dawn muttered under her breath, eyes on the shambling figures at the mouth of the alley. Fireworks from the waterfront exploded overhead. “Slowly.”
“Uh, please don’t.” A voice spoke from behind her. “Which woman?”
There was someone else here. Dawn pivoted.
