Her body has started twitching awake at 12:55 like clockwork just in case Jabber texts. More often than not, she never does.

The answer to that question must have been yes; the way Toriel is peering at her over her glasses is the smoking gun. It's a playful look, the kind of look that one would make before cracking a really bad pun. But there’s something else laced in it, a kind of hunger that the wine and conversation weren't satiating. The doe hadn’t seen that kind of flame in her eyes in years, the flame that flickered like an invitation.
So it's no surprise, really, that the two of them would end up like this. Carol pressed Toriel into the wall of the kitchen, holding her jaw while they kissed. It's not soft, like the kisses she would give her husband. It's hungry, depraved almost. Like the two of them were in a desert, and the other’s lips were the oasis they so desperately craved.

“Toriel.”
“Carol.”
It’s all the acknowledgement that they need for one another. There’s no ‘Good Evenings’ – no questions about how their days had been. They don’t need that, not with what Toriel is likely about to propose.
“What, pray tell, are you doing in my office?” Carol interrogates, flicking her head to one side with a stubborn showcase of her attitude.
And yet Toriel doesn’t falter. She never does.
“You invited me in,” she retorts. “You tell me.”
Toriel shows up at Carol's office late into the evening. This is not unusual for them.
