Summary
In 1998, a group of seven students were chosen to be in a special class where they can reach their full intellectual potential. Isolated from their peers and as the pressure to succeed starts mounting they start to resort to desperate measures to stay on top of the class. I was there, I saw it all happen. The rise and the inevitable fall. Almost thirty years after it happened, I still can’t move on, I am stuck in the past, so I am writing my way out.

Summary
Nothing in life is certain, except death, taxes, and Alastor and Vox. Somehow, no matter what universe they’re in, the two manage to find each other.
Alastor is nine years old when V and his fancy family move into the house at the end of his street. They’re not at all how Alastor expects. He’s never met anybody as cold and controlling as V’s parents, and he’s never met anyone he’s liked as much as he likes V. They quickly become friends after Alastor saves V from a cruel punishment in the Louisiana sun, and V finds himself welcomed into a family where nobody yells at each other, nobody gets hit for misbehaving, and where he can be free for the first time in his life.
What kind of men can two boys become when found family and love disrupt the cycle of isolation that creates monsters?
(A queer coming-of-age exploration of how connection, trauma, and environment shape who we become, told with grounded psychological realism. A litfic-style narrative following Alastor and Vox from childhood into adulthood as found family rewrites their trajectories.
A companion piece to It’s Not Murder, imagining what might have happened if the two hadn’t grown up in isolation, but readable as standalone.)

Summary
"A gentleman downstairs" announced Mrs Hudson. "Very nervous. He wishes to speak with you about a statue"
Holmes raised his eyes from the paper with the slowness of a feline who has just scented something of interest
"Of marble or of bronze?"
"Of marble, from what I gathered. But the trouble is not the material" Mrs Hudson hesitated. "It is what it was doing"
"And what was it doing?"
"According to him, it was committing adultery"

Summary
To WCKD, he isn't Minho. He is subject A7.
Over six months of isolation, WCKD dismantles his mind using his own memories as weapons, utilizing everything from the water tank to the simulation chair. But Minho doesn't survive simply because he is strong; he survives because he is a Runner.
When they take away the sky, he maps the dark. When they take away his future, he retreats into the past—pulling on the memories with Alby, Gally, Ben, and Newt to keep his sanity tethered to the ground.
But memory is a double-edged blade. It can build a fortress, but also a graveyard that haunts you.
OR: Six months of Subject A7 spent fighting a war using his own history.

Summary
"Who is it?” Megumi asks. “Your— you know.”
Gojo looks down at the silver band adorning his left hand. It's dirty, but the grime smears off easily when he swipes his thumb over the cool metal. He used to be able to see his reflection in it — but now, when he lifts it to his face, he can't see anything at all.
"He isn't around anymore,” he manages.
"Oh.” Megumi pauses for a moment, and then he asks, “What was he like?”
Suguru Geto is a lot of things — a stranger, a friend, a son — and the only thing keeping everyone from going haywire in the aftermath of the apocalypse.
He's also dead.
Satoru Gojo isn't many things, but the people of the Six Eyes settlement call him a great leader. He tries his best to be the beacon of hope they claim he is, but he doesn't feel like much of anything without Suguru.
It's been two years since the outbreak of the Gordian parasite, and Satoru hasn't learned to live without him.
He won't have to for much longer.

Summary
Receiving a look from this man was unlike any other eye contact. It felt warm. Heavy. Meeting eyes with his instructor felt tight, warm, and heavy. It was a wet t-shirt at 4:30 PM, and everyone knows how the sun likes to shine at 4:30.
As for Frederick, the pencils in his hand and mouth grew wet under his palms...

I wrote this a while ago, for a friend, whom I shall perhaps call M. It was the product of a conversation about his sexual fantasies, although the finished product is not pornographic or sexy, to me, at all.

Summary
Unnamed narrator reflects on his relationship to women, money, and consent.
**Please be advised this is a very different kind of writing than what is posted on my other alt. It's disturbing and upsetting and without a real plot, which is kind of the point. For a long time I've meant to migrate some of my original writing to this website, since it's the best place I know on the internet for self-published culture outside the capitalist market, but this is a separated pseud for a reason.**

Summary
In which Mike Wheeler has now become an essayist, writing plenty of personal essays about his youth. But, as all great writers do, they have to write about the people that they've known.
Unfortunately, every story leads back to one person: Will Byers.
Mike does not know how to handle that.
Or: Mike is unable to narrativize his feelings for Will, without being haunted by the guilt of who he loved as a kid.

Summary
Crosshair was beautiful.
There was simply no other way to say it.
Hunter didn’t need to frame it with modifiers like ‘unconventional’, or ‘surprising’ or words that tried to make sense of something as if truth needed a contextual crutch. Crosshair’s entire life was one perpetual, extended sneer at crutches and any fool who deigned to bring one up.
But now, settled in the couch near the window, long legs stretched into their relaxed, ridiculous angles, book in hand, quietly reading as snow pattered softly on the windowpanes, he looked…
He looked soft.

Summary
Lucy van Pelt. An aspiring journalist, consistently finds herself be seemingly disillusioned by her college experience. Taking it to be quite dull.
Schroeder Felton. A prodigy at the piano, who everyone assumed was Juilliard-bound, now feels stuck in the Twin Cities. Lost, and quite melancholic.
They're older now. From visits with friends, travels to-and-from apartments, the Twin Cities, things they'll refuse to say, and along with the distaste for how both of their lives are turning out; they find solace within one another.
Or, a story about Lucy and Schroeder. Loosely inspired by The Postal Service’s 2003 album, “Give Up”.
