Summary
Poseidon was often called the father of monsters and even when he loathed to admit it, the name was apt.
So when Perseus was born, Poseidon was prepared for the worst, another head, three times too many fingers, whatever it was, he would love it and try to protect it.
Imagine his surprise, when somehow, someway, Percy came out with ten fingers and ten toes, perfectly normal looking and with a powerful lung. Of course, he’d had demigod children in the past, but he wasn't often graced with a real child.
Who could then blame him, when he watched Perseus closely growing up, chest swollen with pride because he was perfect? Perfect like Triton, his heir, and so funny. It felt only natural to claim Perseus as his, the first opportunity he got. He was so proud to be able to present such a courageous and normal child.

“Hey.” He feels a toe poking at the back of his thigh. He makes a noise between a grunt and a groan in an attempt to convey his displeasure at being disturbed just as he was about to make the challenging journey to an upright state, and feels sand being kicked over his butt. It gets right into all the crevices, and he can tell it was done in an actively malicious fit of pique. He tries to roll over twice before meeting with sweet, sweet success and cracking open his eyes.
“You’re trespassing, demigod.” From what Percy can see, he’s staring at someone in his late teens or early twenties. The sun is setting, and the sky is an orange tableau, framing a muscular blonde man wearing only a chlamys, clasped together over his right shoulder with a lyre pin.
Or, Percy, amnesiac extraordinaire, washes up on the shores of Delos.

Zeus’ face made a spastic movement at my words. It took him a few seconds to respond, his brother and my father, Poseidon, looked sick to his stomach at my casual words as he rounded on his brother. Before he could get on his brother, Zeus merely muttered, 'What?'
'Well, come on,' I said encouragingly with a wave at him. 'Don’t threaten me with a good time and not go through with it.'
Zeus looked like his brain had short circuited as my father swiveled back at me, a look of despair on his face."
In which a girl who is just too tired for all of this wakes up in this universe’s equivalent of Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The gods, oddly uncomfortable and concerned, have to scramble to handle this nightmare.
