Summary
“You’re insufferable,” Cuteguy grumbles. “I should just leave you to get torn apart by Rift monsters.” Scar hums in response, absently wondering whether the pink dusting Cuteguy’s cheeks is from the fight or this conversation.
“Fine,” he says, pretending to relent, “we can change it to Pretty Boy, though I’m still a fan of Cuteguy—”
“Nope, no, no—” Cuteguy interjects, waving his hands in front of him. Scar grins, stifling a snicker.
He knows Cuteguy can’t really dislike him; if he did, why would he choose to be his sidekick? From what Scar’s seen of him, Cuteguy would be more than capable of striking out as a solo vigilante.
Void, he’d probably fare well as a hero if he wanted. Hero recruiters would be fawning over his combat skills and flight—and no, Scar is not fighting back a pang of jealousy over that—but instead, he volunteered to be Scar’s right hand man.

Summary
Scar didn’t expect to get captured.
When an ambush causes Scar, also known as HotGuy, to be captured by a vengeful enemy of his co-hero, Cub, he tries to get help by using a meditation trick that allows him to speak to the person he is closest to. Only it turns out the person he is closest to isn’t his best friend, co-hero and partner in crime, but the person to whom the universe thinks his soul is linked.
Grian didn’t expect to wake up to a cheerful voice chattering inside his head.
Grian tried to stay away from the black-and-white world of heroes and villains to forget his past as the villain Mother Spore, so now he dabbles in the morally grey area of vigilantes. But then a cheerful, way too optimistic voice won’t leave his head, and seems to want him to go right back to that world. When Grian finds out the voice is actually in serious need of rescuing, can he assemble his allies once again to save the person to whom the voice belongs to?

“Did you find it?!”
Cub nods slowly, clearly reading the book still. Scar squints at the book but the words were so tiny and squished together his dyslexia was making it very difficult to read. He could see the exact mark on his hip on the page however. A bright and excited grin grew on his face. They had found it! He would finally know what species his soulmate is!
“What’s it say? I can’t quite read it.”
Scar prompts when Cub stays silent, bouncing on the balls of his feet in excitement. The hand resting on Cub’s shoulder tapping at him as a use for his eager energy.
“They are called the Watchers.”
Scar got an unknown soulmark and it's causing all kinds of problems for him, but he is still determined to find his soulmate! No matter what warnings people give him.

Scar hadn’t seen his former best friend Grian since he had abruptly packed up after high school and left their small dusty town—and Scar—behind. Now, five years later, Scar still hasn’t left his chunk of desert. He likes his little house, and his garden full of sunflowers, and his cat named Jellie, and neighbors he’s known his whole life. But something is missing. Scar knows he isn’t going to find his soulmate by lounging around the same place he’s lived all his life, ignoring the golden tattoo on his heart and hoping, but he isn’t sure what to do about it.
Grian turned 18 and received his soul mark. Then he left. He needed out of his small hometown, and the big city could give him that escape. Now, after a brutal breakup, he has nowhere left to go except back home. Its only saving grace is his former best friend Scar, whom he left behind without an explanation years ago. Scar is just as magnetic as Grian remembers him, and that makes keeping the truth from him that much harder.
The two reconnect, and Scar suggests a road trip to see the west and find their soulmates. This will go swimmingly, right?Or
Grian knows that him and Scar are soulmates, but also knows that what Scar is looking for isn’t him.
