Viktor always comes in after school. It’s a habit he’s had for nearly two years now, one he justifies with new excuses every time someone asks. It started with saying he needed to rest his leg, which Jayce believes to be the truth, then to keeping warm in the cold weather, then to keeping cool in the hot weather, but Jayce has his suspicions. Viktor stays out late most nights, talks about his homework with detached neutrality. He’s a freshman who walks to and from the bus by himself. Whose parents don’t care that he doesn’t come home until well after dark because they never bothered to enforce a curfew. But Jayce won’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Jayce remembered screaming, even though he knew nobody would hear him. His distraught wails had echoed in his enclosure, reverberated against the rocky walls, and joined the psychedelic harmony of the pulsating agony and the flashing red until he could bear no more.
As his eyes fluttered and struggled to keep open, he recalled seeing a dark, hooded figure—a distance away, standing by the cave walls. He wanted to reach out for help, but his body failed him before he could muster to speak, and he drifted into unconsciousness once again.
That was the first sighting.

Summary
Regular medicine isn’t enough to stop the disease breaking down Viktor’s body, so he turns to an old acquaintance for something to lessen the pain and help him forget his depreciating existence. Keeping shimmer in the lab is a risky move, especially when one slip of the mind leads Jayce to discover the drug in his desk alongside his other medication. Viktor is almost certain that if he explains himself, his partner will understand. If not, then he’ll just have to get rid of the evidence.

Still, Viktor's evil, sick voice spoke louder. It was too good not to resist. And maybe he should regret it, because Dimitri had no idea that handkerchief was stolen from Professor Talis and it was a shame that Viktor was using it to satisfy his own disappointment, but the regret simply didn't come, even after so many minutes of planning and predicting in his head, as he sat in the chair in his own office, staring at the empty wall.
No. Worst of all, and the big reason why he was a terrible man: he was grinning. Grinning because he had Jayce's cotton handkerchief on his hands, and he was going to dirty it with his own mouth. He had already kissed his colleague's blue pen, licked the mug stolen from the other's office, used – by touching himself – the lab gloves that Jayce had used during a class. The handkerchief was just one more thing, only shared with someone else, this time. And he was sure he would love what would happen.

“Do you think you would be okay with overpowering me during sex?” His nail catches on the foil of the chocolate and Viktor’s eyebrow pinches in the middle as he focuses on peeling it back. He doesn’t notice Jayce’s brow furrow, or the way that Jayce’s breath hitches.
“...Can you elaborate on what you mean by overpowering?” Jayce says, looking at Viktor from the corner of his eyes. “I’m okay with pushing you around and moving you– we do that already?” His gaze is met by Viktor, who pops the piece of chocolate into his mouth, and he seems to think before speaking the next sentence.
“You do,” he agrees. He swallows the chocolate down and hums, mulling over his words. “What if we take it a step further, and you force me?”
