Summary

Bill’s a little scary when he gets like this— his voice takes on this flat, empty tone, and it terrifies Richie. Bill is normally so full of emotion and life, so this is almost unnatural. Richie knows that he has to do something.
“Okay.” He snatches the cards from Bill’s hand, ignoring the strangled noise of protest that he makes. “That’s enough for tonight.”
“Richie, give them back.” Bill says, making a grab for them. Richie lifts them up and out of Bill’s reach. “Richie, I’m serious.”
“So am I,” Richie snaps back, setting the cards on the table, away from Bill. “You need to eat something, and probably take a shower.”

“You’re early, Big Bill.” Richie says before he’s even positive the call has connected properly.
“I f-figured you wouldn’t want to be alone.” Bill’s voice is quiet, nervous, and Richie feels a little bad for the way he answered. “And you did the s-same for me, so.”
Richie doesn’t respond, and they sit in silence, the only sound coming from the rain beating against their respective windows. It’s eerily similar to the night of Bill’s birthday, including the way those four and a half minutes seem to take three hours to drag by.
Richie’s eyes stay trained on the digital clock on his nightstand, watching 11:58 turn into 11:59. He actually considers praying for a moment.
12:00. Silence. And then—

Feedback from the guitar rings throughout the small room, bouncing off the concrete walls, and Sunghoon’s longing gets immediately replaced by excitement, finally feeling like he’s in a space to just let go.
But, it’s short lived when, just before the band starts and he gets swept away by the inevitable mosh pit, he sees the drummer take his seat on his throne, and he’s stunned to see a face he’s quickly become familiar with.
It’s the boy from the merch table. He’s the drummer in the band.

After losing his job due to internal band drama, Sunghoon attends a small hardcore show to blow off some steam and forget about everything for a night. He ends up catching the eye of a beautiful blonde boy hanging out around the merch table who turns out to be the drummer in one of the bands on the lineup, and Sunghoon quickly learns that he wasn't the only one who had his every thought invaded that night.
