Steve dies at Starcourt, Eddie can't just let his crush go.

"Why exactly am I helping again?" Chrissy asks when she stumbles over the soft dirt of a recent grave making a silent apology to the deceased as she hurries to catch up to Eddie who is getting too far ahead in his haste. No way is she being left alone to wander the cemetery, that is too creepy.
Eddie makes a triumphant whooping sound flashlight waving around like an offbeat club light as he finds the right grave. "You're helping me because that's what best friends are for Chris. Who else was I supposed to ask?"
Chrissy shakes her head as she finally catches up, "pretty sure Gareth is your best friend." Certainly the friend he has had the longest from all the stories he tells.
"He wouldn't have understood." Eddie digs his shovel into the soft dirt and pulls up a heaping pile of it, tossing it to the side uncaringly covering an older grave. He pauses long enough to give her big puppy dog eyes, "what are second best friends for?"

Theo was having a pretty good time, see. He'd finally gotten out from under his parents' thumbs, he might not know what he wanted to do but he definitely didn't want to become a doctor, and he was finally able to live.
And then his drunk ass decides that it's a good idea to walk into a magical psychedelic rainbow, and the next thing he knows he's waking up on a rock in the middle of the sea with his phone, a dragon plushie, and no idea how he got there.
So, you know. He's having a fun time.
That's not even mentioning being eaten by a sea monster and saved by a crackhead with superpowers who wants to recruit him into becoming a criminal and doesn't take no for an answer, the seafaring police force that is somehow worse than the cops back home, and the disgusting food in this world, seriously, that apple was nasty as hell-

Steve had a bad feeling, and this wasn't the first time it had happened.
For as long as he could remember, he had always had hunches. Hunches about events that hadn't even happened yet but warned him before the shoe could drop. He was used to them. To the bad omens. To the anxiety they brought.
Maybe, that's why he was as tense as a coiled spring when they entered Hawkins Lab, as gray as decayed as the rest of the Upside Down. But not even a hunch could have prepared him for what happened that day. He couldn't have braced himself for the party splitting up. He couldn't have braced himself for an argument with Dustin, much less the boy's violent reaction at him bringing Eddie into the conversation.
He couldn't have expected to crack his head open into the ground, nor the world that waited for him when he opened his eyes once again. Neither the spider that bit him, or the powers that would later bring him.
And when this peculiar world welcomed him, he couldn't help but wonder.
Was that Munson? In a big sign? Wearing a hero-like costume?
And why on Earth was he blond?

Eddie gently yanks him back by his hair “how is it?” He asks, pupils dilated, lips shining “huh?” Steve says brainlessly, practically drooling over having his hair pulled.
“Kissing a guy, how is it?” Eddie repeats, his voice low and velvety, his fingers still buried deep in Steve’s hair, thick rings resting heavy against his scalp.
“It’s awesome” Steve says earnestly. Eddie meets him half way then, a wry smile lingering as he slips his tongue into Steve’s mouth.
