When Izuku was younger, his father used to take him out onto the glass balcony and point out the rest of the Isle below them — the markets, the docs, the forest, the streets — and tell him it was all theirs. His and Shigaraki’s and Izuku’s. That All Might may have destroyed his criminal empire back in Musutafu, but he had rebuilt it from the ground up when he was sentenced to the Isle. That he was king of the villains, and one day Izuku would be too.
For a while, Izuku had even believed him.
