Summary
Unlike the others Silco’s gaze doesn’t leave Viktor, even when Singed enters. Viktor watches him warily back, knowing better than to turn his back on a predator even if he’s outgrown the old rule of hiding. Silco’s eyes don’t linger on his cane or any of the glaring hints other trenchers see as weakness or cause for dismissal. It sets Viktor’s heart beating harder, to be eyed like a potential threat, a sick curl of dread and misplaced satisfaction in turn.

Zaun was offered a name and seats on the Council but the city is still a singular entity. This puts Viktor in an odd position of someone with a foot on both sides, and Silco very much wants to tip that balance.

They still smile, well trained in propriety, though Elias’ eyes slide to Peter instead. He’s rather glorious like this, Elias will admit, raw and cruel in such lovely packaging. Maybe as a thanks he’ll allow himself a few moments to dwell on their own farce, the dance around each other as though the final steps won’t be sliding a knife in the other’s back.
