Summary
The biker's expression closely resembles his archery instructor's when he went 3 months without a haircut at age 11. (He shaved it all off after dinner that night; He picked up the golden locks from the bathroom tile with dewy eyes). The man walks by them with heavy steps, grunting and huffing, to the urinal right behind Jason. Percy goes on unbothered - well visibly unbothered, truthfully tensed up like a brick - but Jason's watching the man through the mirror in front of him. His imperial gold pocket knife burns hot through his jeans as the guy mutters something like maggots.
The guy's zipping his jeans back up when Jason gets a sparkling idea. His hand moves from Percy's thigh to cradle his face, whose eyes widen in confusion until Jason nods towards the biker. The answer is a wicked smile.
The biker turns and Jason's grip tightens, pulling Percy in a kiss. He feels like drowning and breathing for the first time all at once. He doesn't know the biker's reaction, probably never will, but he knows Percy's flipping him off with the arm curled around Jason's neck and he knows how it feels to breathe in Percy Jackson's air and that's enough.

Well, Percy is making dinner while she's staring at his back and having the millionth existential crisis of the month. (Is she old enough to call them midlife crises by now? She's older than she ever thought she'd be and the dilemma seems grand enough to qualify as that).
See, the last time she has ever been in a room completely alone with Percy was the day they broke up. The day she was confronted with the slaughterhouse she had created. A lifetime ago. A bit over ten years actually, but could be called a lifetime in demigod terms

He considered it for a second. Were they rivals? Not after a week or two. Everyone had to get close fast on the Argo II. “It wasn’t that big of a rivalry. I guess we were a little hostile starting out, but I don’t remember a really clear change.”
“No, since when were you guys so…” She shrugged. “Close?”
When did they start to get so close? Jason thought he had an answer for that. He thought it was on the Argo II.

Jason and Percy don’t know when exactly it happened. On the Argo II, when Percy changed the dressings for Jason’s wound and got kisses in return? Maybe it was later, when they landed and everything was settling and Jason visited Cabin 3 and they cried until they woke up in each others’ arms. It could have been when they went to the Jackson’s for a Halloween party and they fell asleep watching movies on his couch. Percy leaned against the basin heavily when Jason set him down, breathing in and out through his nose and screwing his eyes shut so hard he was sure he was going to pop a vein. Jason closed the door behind him and started shrugging off his things, pointedly trying to ignore the river of blood sprouting from Percy's thigh, just above the back of his knee, piercing his pants.
“You want me to… pull it out.” Jason mused, more to himself than to Percy, mentally preparing himself for what he was about to do.
“I'll explain when you yank it out, just– do it.”
