So when Sion came along, with his kind smile and over-excited personality, winning over Riku like it was his life's purpose. Riku's first instinct was to wait. Because to him, Sion was perfect, and that meant Riku wanted the meet-the-family to be perfect too. Because Sion deserves it. But now it's been almost a year and how is Riku realistically meant to tell his family sorry I've had a boyfriend all this time I've just been too nervous to tell you. Getting teased everytime Sion's even mentioned in passing isn't helping Riku's poor, nervous heart either. So he's found himself in a limbo of anxiously waiting for the right time, and anxiously accepting his fate of being too late. It's exhausting.

Summary

Young detective Maeda Riku is addicted to following the case that almost cost him his career. He's managed to trace a lead to the small coastal town of Mokpo and temporarily moves there under the guise of helping local law enforcement. However instead of the lead he so desperately wants - Riku finds himself having to reckon with the people he ran away from in his hour of need and is left wondering just how deep his ties go to a town he only found out the name of yesterday.

“I- stop.” Sion grits his teeth while Yushi grins to himself. “He’s Gumi’s teacher. I don't."
Maeda Riku is a beautiful man and he’s very kind and he’s always gone the extra mile to accommodate Megumi’s peculiarities even though Megumi isn’t easy to accommodate. Tsuchiko and the mess of their marriage is already far in the rearview. But Riku is so good with his kid. And it’s hard not to feel a little swayed by that.
So Sion says: "I don't like him." Because he doesn't, because he can't, because he's already fucked up his life once and he's not gonna do it again.
"Sure you don't," Yushi takes a noisy sip of beer. And, well.

Oh Sion is thirty-four when he settles himself and his daughter, Megumi, down in rural Japan. It's been three years since his divorce. It's been three years since Megumi's mom left. It's the first time they've been stable in a long time. Sion would do anything to not rock the boat.
Except Megumi's teacher, Riku, is a little too nice. And when push comes to shove, he's very good at getting what he wants. And maybe - just maybe - it's about time that Sion finally gives himself a second chance.

Daeyoung was always giving in as much as he could. But all others wanted was for him to do more.
“Last night I asked Ushi hyung what he ordered for room service but he turned the question back and asked me to guess. So that was a little frustrating.”
Then comes in Riku, Yushi’s personal lawyer. “That’s because he wants to have a conversation with you.”
“Yeah, it means I want to talk…that I want to have a conversation~”
“That’s just his way of doing things, you know?” Ryo butts in.
“So why don’t you understand him?”
“It suddenly feels like Jaehee hyung is the one being blamed.”
“Understand how Yushi feels.” Riku presses.
“W- me too..! Understand my feelings too!”
Or: Daeyoung did not understand Yushi like second nature the way others such as Riku did. But for his hyung, he tries.

Summary
Yushi always told him he was too emotional and Sion insisted that the main reason for it was the fact that Riku’s zodiac sign was cancer. But he, particularly, thought that, ignoring all of that, anyone would be hurt after being dumped. It was worse that he got dumped by someone he chased for almost one year of his life.
Riku and Daeyoung didn't always have a complicated relationship. It was comfortable the way it was, even without anything besides their inner feelings being official. When Riku had to face life without he used to live — without the intimacy from their thing — everything starts to go wrong.
