Summary
The blue flames engulfed both of their hands. Just as it was painless many years ago, the fire didn’t hurt here either. Ford even caught himself relaxing for an instant at the familiar warmth that used to fill him with joy. Although blue used to depict the highest temperature fire could have, Bill’s blazes felt like letting your skin bathe in the sun’s light in the month of July. A solar warmth, almost… divine. He felt a familiar thrill of electricity coursing through his veins. The deal was sealed.

Ford couldn't take the constant anxiety, fear, and trauma of Bill's wrath.
When he found himself on the roof of his house after Bill had stolen control from him, he realized this all had an easy solution.
If Bill could get anyone else to do this, he would've gone for the easier prey. For whatever reason, he needed Ford, and only Ford.
So Ford would take that from him. Or so he hoped.

You’re clever Fordsy, that’s why I like you so much!” Bill dissolved the triangular cage surrounding Ford and Stan, and Stan dashed to sweep up Dipper and Mabel protectively. Bill caught Ford in a waist dip, “You know how I love a little ‘will-they-won’t-they-destroy-the-world’ in a galactic takeover!”
In a moment of quick thinking, Ford Pines has tricked Bill into a deal that protects his family from Bill's wrath. Stan Pines tries to balance keeping it together for the kids, protecting a hostage Ford, and beating Bill at his mind games.
As for Bill Cipher, well, the demon can't for the life of him figure why everyone thinks he's actually in love with his former science partner. It's a joke, guys!

Stanford Pines is not known for his patience, in both the multiverse and Dimension 46'\. Though, there are times where he is able to exercise restraint long enough to tolerate something. This is not one of those times. He tries to brush it off as the gnomes, or even ghosts, breaking in and moving stuff around. Perhaps, even going as far as stealing some of his specimens. He’s had enough when a jar of fairy dust has gone missing from his shelf. Stanford’s hands fingers curl into a fist as a growl reverberates within his chest. The fact that this is happening a few days after tossing that damned book away cannot be a coincidence.
