They kept in touch, sure, they were best friends and they had agreed to make the effort. A silly thing like distance wouldn’t drive them away. But little by little, it kind of did. They talked less, didn’t always know what the other was up to. Ace was active in social media, but Deuce wasn’t."
Deuce went away for college, and it took him nine years to return. Now that he's back, all he wants is to live the life he always dreamed of: in his own house, enjoying the company of his best friend, never letting those romantic feelings he's been hiding get in the way.
