Mitsuba loves horror movies.
Not in the way you would think, though. He doesn't like the jumpscares, the creepy music, the sudden pauses, or the weird plot twists. He gets scared as easily as a skittish woodland creature, so he never found the actual movies enjoyable. In fact, the only thing Mitsuba actually likes about horror movies is Kou.

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.

Summary
A typical raid against the cleaners. A typical fight against Jabber and Zanka. However, when Jabber dislocates Zanka’s ankle in the freezing weather, the pain is overbearing and he falls unconscious. The two of them had broke and lost their chokers in the fight, buried under the rapid blizzard. Just as cold, Jabber takes them both to find a shelter for warmth until they can get back to their own headquarters. While surviving together, they learn more about each other and develop feelings that barely cross the line of obsession.
Or
Zanka and Jabber go to a cabin in a forest whilst a snow blizzard is actively happening. Then they fall in love as they learn to survive with each other.
