Summary
Ed and Stede have now opened their inn (called Jeff and Thomas's Idyllic Retreat by the Sea, because they're remaining incognito, dontcha know), and things aren't going so well. For starters, their very first guest is a bad-tempered octogenarian who seems determined to make their lives difficult. Plus, a drop-dead gorgeous guy named Applejack is looking for a job, and Ed might have just a teeny-tiny skosh of a jealous streak.

David Jenkins told us that he envisioned Kevin Bacon playing Applejack, so I had a 35-year-old Kevin in mind when I wrote him. I did take a few minor liberties with his character, however. For one thing, Kevin is from Philadelphia, but the mannerisms I gave Applejack are more of a good ol' boy from the South.

Stede tried to raise a hand so that he could rub his sore forehead, but something was wrong. His hand refused to obey his command. He opened his eyes, carefully so that he could avoid being attacked further by the unforgiving sunlight, and …
“What the hell?”.
He was trussed up like a rotisserie chicken, lying in a pit several feet deep that had been dug in the sand.
“Who did this??”.
“That’d be me,” a cheerful voice said from somewhere above. “Morning, sleepyhead.”

Consider this a re-imagining of Season Two. Not because I didn't enjoy the Season Two we got! I adored it and always will, but I just wanted to tell a different story. We'll have angst and danger and whump and the whole nine yards, but in the end, true love will prevail. You have my word on that.

Summary
We all know how the "This is Happening" episode began, right?
- Ed told Stede that he was thinking about leaving the Revenge.
- Stede was frantically trying to think of a way to stop him when Roach interrupted to report that they'd run out of oranges. This was bad, because they needed oranges on account of the Swede's teeth falling out from scurvy.
- Stede set off with Lucius to get more oranges. Instead, he returned with a treasure map that he'd bought from some woman.
This story is about that woman. Who is she? Just a random con artist? Or, maybe, someone we happen to know pretty well?

Summary
Stede had learned so much about the different ways in which his body could give and receive pleasure these past few weeks. He had discovered a whole other side to himself, a secret bud that he hadn't even known he had been carrying, but that had been waiting for the sunlight in order to bloom. To say it was a revelation would be an understatement.
But sadly, they couldn't spend all of their time wrapped up in each other. There was a significant amount of work to be done to turn their dream of the inn into a reality…
The problem was, though, Stede was constantly finding himself distracted by the sight of Ed. And who could blame him? Ed was right there, doing very sexy things all the time, like sawing or hammering or — or chiseling! Honestly, how was a man supposed to work under such conditions?

Sometimes it’s like Stede can read Ed’s thoughts—except for all the times when it’s painfully obvious that he can’t.
Especially the whole, y’know, Ed being in love with him thing.
Ed flicks some ash into the daffodil bed. “Thought you quit.”
“I did.” Stede says, all eyelashes and dimples as he makes a “gimme” motion with two fingers.
Ed sighs and hands over the pack and a lighter. He isn’t present as he does it, not really. He’s thinking about that other life, where Stede takes Ed’s cigarette from his lips without asking.
A modern AU based on Lucy Dacus' album, Forever is a Feeling.
