    Summary

The thing is that Luo Binghe doesn't need to ask. It's there. It's evident.
The fan that Shizun has carried for the past two moons is still in his hand. It's simply-drawn - nothing more than a strange symbol, a black swirl with a triangle on one side - but Shizun hasn't put it down since Shang-shishu gave it to him. His knuckles tighten around it, and then they loosen.
    Forcibly.
"This master does not want for anything," he says, lies through his teeth as though Binghe cannot see his heart broken there, "how could he, with Binghe at his side?"

    Pre-transmigration AU!

Shen Yuan is being forced to find a partner, so he turns to discord servers. He doesn't know that in the same server the author of his favourite novel crossdresses to afford money.

    – – –

“For the last time,” Shen Yuan sighs, “no, I'm not interested in your friend's daughter!”

His father looks at him in disappointment. “A-Yuan, you are at an age where young men should try to look around for…potential partners. It's time to slowly settle down.”
    ———
“Hmm…I'm 5’1,” Shang Qinghua mused, typing it out, “I love cats and sanrio,” that's a good one. “And I love old people with money.”

He looks at it. “The last one seems fake.”

    Summary

Xiang Fei can’t believe he was stupid enough to keep the chapter draft open. He especially can't believe he was that reckless in front of one the few people who, apparently, knows about Proud Immortal Demon Way. Not to mention that Shen Yuan is crazy hot. Xiang Fei can see his obituary now: local man, age twenty, died from sheer fucking embarrassment after a hot guy read his porn.

"Xiang Fei, this is..." Shen Yuan's lips purse, and Xiang Fei feels his soul leave his body. "...really fucking good."

    What.

"I was kinda worried at first,” Shen Yuan admits. "Most people who write this sort of thing are basement-dwelling incels or those sisters from the forums who—“ his cheeks flush steadily pinker, and it stunlocks Xiang Fei so completely that it takes everything else a second to register.

    Wait. Fanfiction?

During a group project gone wrong (right?), Shen Yuan and Xiang Fei stumble into a situation where they're being graded on PIDW fanfiction. Between fandom discourse, overpriced coffee, terribly-organized conventions, they stumble their way into what might just be the closest friendship either of them have ever had. Go figure.
